Childrens Bedroom Sets

Your children’s bedroom should be a place where they feel comfortable the most. You should understand that like adults, they need their own private place too, and that place is no other than their bedroom. In order to make their bedroom their own happy place, you should get to know some basics first.

Bed Buster!

First thing’s first, choose a bed. There are different kinds of beds for children’s rooms. This is a very important decision to make since your child deserves one that is comfortable enough to relax, chill out and sleep in. It can also be the main attraction of the room, with other furnishings that matches it.

Bed types for children vary from singles, twins, bunks and trundles. Get to know each type of bed, to know which would suit your child’s needs.

Singles and Twins

A twin or single bed can be suitable for children of all ages. The decision would primarily depend on how much space you have in your room. Twin beds are the most common choice by families because there are different styles to choose from. They also come in standard sizes; that’s why it would be easy to buy a new mattress if needed.

Bunks and Trundles

If you have more than one child and they would be sharing a room, bunk beds would be the best for you. You get more versatility and convenience out of bunk beds, since they are stackable. If the time comes that your kids feel they are too old for a bunk bed, you can detach them, and you instantly have two separate twin beds!

Some parents worry that bunk beds are dangerous. You don’t need to worry about your child falling from the top bunk since these beds are equipped with a ladder and safety rails. There are also some bunk beds that have a storage drawer below, that can sometimes become trundle drawers.

Trundle beds are very popular for children’s rooms because they provide functionality and style. This kind of bed is great if you have limited space in the room for cabinets, shelves and armoires. The trundle drawer is a great storage substitute.

Trundle drawers can also be transformed into an extra bed. You just need a twin mattress to put into the frame, and you get an instant bed! This is great if your child frequently hosts sleepovers with friends at your house.

Add-ons

When you’ve decided on what type of bed you want to get, you can also consider getting a bed that has a little zest on it. There are single or twin sized bed frames that are shaped as racecars, boats, and even princess carriages.

There are also bunk beds shaped as space shuttles, buses, and even dollhouses.

These types of bunk beds usually serve not only as beds, but also as playscapes. Some of them have built-in bookshelves and other storage drawers on the sides.

These can be quite expensive, but if your budget allows it, your child would definitely love bedtime!

In deciding on what type of bed you’ll get your children, always keep in mind their preference and also your budget. It would be better if you bring them along with you when you are bed shopping. However, you should also remember that children grow fast, and maybe getting a princess carriage bed for your child wouldn’t be that practical for you.
